Why should I allow positioning in the Safeture Mobile Application?
In order to receive relevant alerts based on your location, you need to always allow the Safeture mobile application to use your location services. If your organization has integrated the Safeture Platform with an assistance provider, always allowing the Safeture Application to use your location will enable the assistance provider to help you wherever you are, when you are in need of assistance.
For full privacy, location settings can always be changed in the mobile application. In the mobile application, you can decide to switch off the services of the app (i.e. completely turn off notifications and positioning), or you can switch off exact positioning (i.e. decide to only provide information on what City or Region/State you are located in).
Settings for location accuracy
Always allow the Safeture application to use your device’s location data. You can do this by going to your device’s Settings → Privacy → Location Services, make sure your location services are enabled and that you have chosen “Always” for the Safeture Mobile Application.
In the Safeture application, you have two different privacy settings, Service and Location Accuracy, which can be accessed on the home page of the app, or by going to Profile and Privacy. For the best service, these should both be enabled. However, for full privacy, you can decide to switch off the services of the app (i.e. completely turn off notifications and positioning), or you can change your exact positioning (i.e. decide to only provide information on what City or Region/State you are located in).
Disable battery optimization settings if using Android
The Safeture Application has been optimized to provide good location tracking with minimal battery usage. Battery consumption per day is only a few percent when in the background with all features active.
Android has introduced settings that terminate background activity of apps which improves battery life and overall performance but hinders the Safeture Application to work at its best. Please follow the list below to make sure the Safeture Application is working within optimal conditions:
- Go to Settings on your device
- Open Apps
- Search for “Safeture” in the list
- Locate “Battery” and then “Battery Optimization”
- Disable “Optimize battery usage” or select “Don’t optimize” if that is present.
Together with the location settings mentioned above will ensure that the Safeture Application is running optimally and provides you with its full range of services.
Settings for iOS users
The Safeture Mobile runs in the background, using its features in a way optimized for longer battery life, which results in only using a few percent of your iOS device per day. There is no special setting for battery saving for iOS. Make sure that location service is always on as mentioned above and you are ready to travel with Safeture.
