Add facilities

This guide is written for Administrators.

What is a facility?

A facility is a defined as a static location of an organization. This can be, for example, offices, factories, and warehouses. If an incident occurs nearby, and you have added facilities to your account, you can instantly mass-communicate with all the people working at a specific facility.

Choose your method of import

There are two different ways to import users. Select the option that is most suitable for your situation, and follow its instructions.

Method 1: Manual import

If you wish to add facilities one-by-one, please follow these instructions.

Recommended when adding only a few facilities.

Method 2: Spreadsheet import

If you wish to import multiple facilities at the same time, please follow these instructions.

Recommended when adding many facilities.

Adding facilities one-by-one

Add facility

To add facilities one-by-one, click “Add Facility”.

Enter address of facility

Search for the address in the search bar, and click on the correct search option listed.

Name the facility

Give the location a name that describes your facility. This is a mandatory step.

Check that the fields related to the address are correct

Confirm that this is the correct address of your facility (address, city, zip code, state, country).

If not, please change them now.

Add additional details

If you have the following information, please add details about:

  • Phone number: a general number to the facility is sufficient. In the absence of a phone number, leave it blank.
  • Facility description: type in a description of the facilitity for other Administrators to see.

Set an incident detection radius

What is an incident detection radius?

Decide how far away from the facility (in kilometers) the incident you will be notified about can be.

If an incident intersects with the incident detection radius, the system alerts the Administrators.

Add facility tags and save facility

Add tags to better structure and target your facilities, using whatever distinguished you like. Example: “Office, Factory, England”, etc.

Finish by clicking on “Save Facility”. 

Spreadsheet import of Facilities

Import facilities

To import multiple facilities at the same time, click “Import Facilities”.

Download and fill in the spreadsheet template

Download either as an Excel file or Google Sheets.

After downloading the template:

  1. Fill in the information for your facilities in the spreadsheet.
  2. Highlight and copy all rows and columns, including the field names, from the spreadsheet.

Paste spreadsheet information

Paste all rows and columns including the field from the spreadsheet here.

Final edits & add facilities

Confirm and potentially correct any errors from the import and click “Add facilities”.
